Extend control beyond the URC family of remotes into Crestron with this new module! The module allows a 2-Series Crestron processor to control the Universal Remote Control PSX-2 via a combination of TCP and UDP. The well-engineered dock and reliable TCP and UDP communications combine to make a fast module providing a great user experience.
The product sports a 166MHz ARM922T processor for speedy navigation of the docked iPod's content. The dock's video output allows for an AppleTV-esque album art mode as well as component reproduction of video content on the iPod. The PSX-2 is not just another dumb dock either. It fully integrates with iTunes to allow you to sync your Apple Product. More details of the dock can be found on Universal Remote Controls website.
The PSX-2 module functionality includes:
- IR emulation commands, allowing the use of one-way Crestron user interfaces.
- Browse and control the PSX-2 dock using it's on-screen display.
- Shortcuts for browsing immediately by playlists, artists, songs, albums, genres, podcasts, audio books, and composers
- Browse the iPod's contents on a touchpanel in a configurable list form
- Ability to browse or manage the PSX-2's jukebox
- Shuffle and repeat controls
- Playback transport controls
- Version 2.1 adds IR emulation of Page up and Page down.
The PSX-2 supports an incredibly robust protocol. For version 2 of the module we plan on providing Alpha search and more sophisticated jukebox functions.
