ControlWorks Weather now includes a suite of three modules. Each of these modules represent a complete ground up effort to provide robust weather data on your client's touchpanel. Anyone familiar with our older RSS Weather module knows the attraction that weather data has on a client's panel. This module is perfect for the Sailor, Aviator, Sportsman or globe trotting client.
So what does it include?
ControlWorks Weather V4
Now, tested for the new Crestron 3-series family of processors. The module allows the user to view the current conditions for the area as well as the forecast. Once the user has retrieved the weather the location can be stored as a press and hold preset. Conditions can be retrieved by Zip code, City & State, Canadian city and Provence or ICAO codes (airport codes such as EGLL for London Heathrow) The module allows for 8 presets. Each preset can be defined as static or dynamic. Touchpanel files are included with the module that allows functional access to the data on a panel as small as a TPS-4L all the way up to a TPMC-17.
ControlWorks Weather Lite V4
Now, tested for the new Crestron 3-series family of processors. "Lite" is a subset of features from "Weather v4" and allows you to provide the current conditions for a single "home" location. Now you can always have the local conditions on the home page of your client's touchpanel. This functionality was the single most requested feature from users. Version 4 also adds two more time periods of the forecast, giving the option to display the current conditions and the next two time periods.
ControlWorks Weather Hourly V4
Now, tested for the new Crestron 3-series family of processors. "Hourly" is a new module that provides a the hourly forecast data for the next seven hours. This module uses the same home location concept as Weather Lite.
So how does this work? This suite of modules we are providing are free but encrypted modules. For weather services have moved from a site license business model to a subscription based one. The module is assigned a unique Client ID once you have registered the client's system on our Administration site. This ID then gets entered into your module as a parameter. Now each time the module requests data from our server the sites credentials are first verified using this unique ID. When you register the site our administration console generates an account form with your Dealer contact information, site name as well as billing information that needs to get completed. Once the account is generated the module can be implemented immediately. You have 7 days to fax the account form to us before the module will no longer authenticate against our server.
And what does it cost? A one year term of service is $168.00 MSRP. A two year option is available at the discounted price of $300.00 MSRP. We also offer a one time activation option should you not opt for annual billing. Crestron Authorized Dealers may create an account on our Administration site to gain access to Dealer pricing.
So how can I get it? First be sure to read the Terms of Service. Next go ahead and add the module to your cart. This is a zero dollar item so you will not be prompted to enter your credit card information. Complete the transaction and then download the module.
What do I need? In order to make use of the module you will need a 2-series processor equipped with an Ethernet port. The processor will need an active connection to the internet in order to connect to to our server for updates.
What is included? The module package includes the encrypted module, a sample program, and help file. New touchpanel templates have been built for all these touchpanel resolutions:
- 320x240 (TPS-4L, TPS-2000L and STX-1700)
- 640x480 (TPS-6X, TPS-6L, TPS-3000 and TSP-4000)
- 800x600 (TPS-12 and TPMC-8X)
- 1024x768 (TPS-15, TPMC-15, and XPANEL)
